Ducting for Neff venting hob

I've got a Neff T48TD7BN2 downward venting induction hob for our new kitchen and just wondered whether anyone been successful in connecting none branded 220x90 ducting to it for external extraction? Or does it have to be the Neff branded ducting which is proving to be impossible to buy due to stock issues?

If you can get a different brand of the right size then go for it. If it doesn't match exactly, that's what duct tape is for!Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0

I would try to get oem ducting/fittings.
Siemens, bosch and probably other hob manufactures use the same ducting/fittings
Good luckChoose Stabila !0 -
Managed to source the Neff part that connects the ducting to the hob but everything else is on a 3 week lead time which doesn’t work for us unfortunately.
Going to try some generic 220x90 plastic ducting (which is a slightly different shape to the Neff stuff) and use a tonne of duct tape and hope for the best.0 -
Is this one of those 'downdraft' induction hobs, with the built in extractor?
General question, are they any good? We're tempted to get one for our new kitchen, but if they're rubbish we'll stick to the overhead ones.0 -

Mine is to be installed in a peninsula so I didnt want a large extractor fan above the worktop so this was exactly what we wanted. As per my original post though, if you want the neff branded ducting be preapred to pay an extra £250-£300 on top of the £2k+ you pay for the hob. And buy it early to avoid stock issues.I'll report back to give a verdict on the effectiveness of the none branded ducting though.coffeehound said:warwick2001 said:General question, are they any good? The ducting goes to an external wall and out of the property via an external wall grille.

Think there is a youtube video by roots kitchens. Remember something about humidity.
Keeping the extract piping as short as possible, avoiding bends if possible helps extraction and reduces noise. Just like any extraction system.
Pity their oem ducting/bends are so expensive
Would i have one, yesChoose Stabila !0 -

coffeehound said:Thing is, there needs to be a path for air to easily enter the building in order for the fan to remove a large volume at the hob. In a modern draught-proofed home, the fan will struggle to work if there is no way for outdoor air to enter the kitchen, such as an open windowI think they’d have to be in a very small, air tight space to struggle for air. A 5-10 minute blast in a kitchen isn’t going to be an issue.0

But surely that’s the case for a standard wall/ceiling mounted extractor fan too?I think they’d have to be in a very small, air tight space to struggle for air. A 5-10 minute blast in a kitchen isn’t going to be an issue.
