You need to comply with French, Belgium and Uk rules ( on your return ). What is your vaccination status ?1

Obviously should have put that we both have had both jabs +booster+flu jab. Very difficult to get booster jab on any paperwork.0

Entry rules for France :
Fully vaccinated travellers will need to present the following documents:
a completed ‘sworn statement’ (déclaration sur l’honneur) form self-certifying they are not suffering from symptoms associated with coronavirus and have not been in contact with confirmed cases in the preceding fortnight. This can be found on the French government’s website
proof of vaccination status (NHS Covid Pass)
Entry rules for Belgium:
•Complete the Belgian Passenger
Locator Form (PLF) before travel. You must carry proof of the completed PLF throughout your journey and for the following 48 hours.• Take a test on day 1 or 2 after arrival and quarantine until you receive a negative result.Alternatively, you can provide evidence of a negative PCR test upon arrival, taken no more than 72 hours before arrival in Belgium. If you have a negative pre-departure test, you do not need to take tests on day 1 or day 2.• All arrivals from countries classified as high-risk, which currently includes the UK, are required to take a test on day 7
Before you travel back to England you must:
- book and pay for a COVID-19 test – to be taken before the end of day 2 in England
- complete a passenger locator form – to be completed in the 48 hours before you arrive in England
You can choose a lateral flow test or a PCR test.

Thanks for your comprehensive reply.I cannot see every vehicle travelling on the E40 through France and Belgium being checked but obviously not looking for problems.I think most of this seems to be a money making exercise for various testing companies who,as we've read, don't seem to be doing the job anyway. At the moment the word of the day for these companies seems to be,'Make it while you can.'0

It appears Belgium has announced that it has relaxed it’s testing requirements and rapid antigen tests are now accepted instead of PCR https://www.brusselstimes.com/brussels/191062/belgium-relaxes-testing-rules-for-uk-travellers/1
