Self employed need advice

Hi all
Looking for some advice as to whether my earnings are good or not. I'm a self employed gardener and struggling to find any more at the moment. I'm earning on average £300 per week on a roughly 16hr week. Is this a decent wage nowadays? I'm so out of touch with what is good or not. I have savings of 25k+, I pay ni contributions each year but don't have a private pension. As I'm getting older I'm beginning to think I've made wrong decisions. Could anyone give me some advice on perhaps any help I could get or even down to you think I should consider getting a job working for someone . It seems easier but something I really don't enjoy doing
Thankyou in advance

That is less than half the average UK fulltime salary in 2020. If you were working full time, you would probably exceed the average. Good gardeners are usually in demand so am surprised you can only get 16 hrs per week.If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0

Is that 16 hours of billable work or 16 hours including moving between clients?0

You really need to aim to be charing £30/hr if you can't average more than16 hrs a week or increase your hours. 16hrs of billable work is a bit low. If you increase this to 20hrs/week and charge £25/hr you will be able to afford to save for a pension. You need to aim to be taking over over £20K per year (the UK average salary is around £27K per year). The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.0

It depends on the area in which you live, but £300 for 16 hours seems fine to me. I once paid a handyman/gardener £12 an hour and he told me that that was generous. Can you increase your hours? If you could increase the hours you could start to think about setting up a private pension. This might be preferable to getting a low paid full-time salaried job.0
