Service Has Caused a Leak

Had my boiler serviced at least a month ago.
It seemed to be okay so I paid the cost (£60) but the following day, a leak appeared.
The company came back a few days later and attempted to fix it but couldn't as they didn't have the part (a simple O ring) and was not aware a spare was in the flap of the boiler.
The company came back a second time to fix it and do some extra work at the same time.
Again, the problem appeared to be fixed but withing a day, a leak appeared. It's now got considerably worse in that when the heating is off, the 1 bar pressure in the boiler still pushes the water out so we're constantly having to top it up and put the heating on but only for an hour at a time.
They've billed me for the second lot of work, which also says fixing the first bit (about £67).
I'm not happy about paying as the boiler was fine before the initial service.
I've contacted the original installer who will be round in a couple of weeks but I'm not expecting good news.
What steps should I now take?
As yet, I have not paid the second lot of money. I am more than willing to pay for the extra work that was done but not for the service as, while the boiler is serviced, I now may have to pay £200 odd for a new filter, which they broke during the initial service and then failed to fix upon their return.
They may not have broken it but it's very likely as they did not have the right equipment to open the filter to begin with and the replacement O ring has also failed.

What age is the boiler? Serving and repairing older boilers is a risk, wear and tear on parts is common but they don't become apparent until disturbed. Common O-rings are cheap and is something I carry as boilers have a lot of them and they do go brittle occasionally.
What type of filter? Any O-rings in the flap would dry out over time be useless so putting an old O-ring in was always a risk.

It can't be fixed.
But we'll done on stalking my threads.
The boiler is just over 2 years old but the filter has a 2 year guarantee, so won't be under warranty any more.
The engineer has said it's an older design of filter and not very good. They updated the design very quickly. The O ring apparently sits in a little groove so when you tighten the cap, it doesn't create a seal. Newer design fits on top so as you screw down, it creates a seal.
It's a tough one as if the service hadn't have happened, it would be fine.
If I ask them to fit a new filter then it's just paying them more money but I guess the O ring could have gone any time.1
