Recently, a retailer sent a delivery to myself with an incorrect item inside the parcel. Easy mistake, no big deal...... Except that when I contacted them to tell them of the error and get the item I've paid for, they refused to send me the item until retuning the mistake.
Now I kind of understand this process but when I approached customer services with the problem that I won't be able to return the error item and receive the correct item in time (item ordered for a holiday) they still refused to do anything about it.
I explained that it would mean I am then paying for an item that I will not be using or having but they didn't seem to care. They repeatedly said they cannot issue a replacement or refund until the return is processed.
I tried to explain its not a refund or a replacement, it's upholding your rend of our contract by sending me the item I have paid for. I still didn't get anywhere.
Is it right that they can withold an item I have purchased and paid for on conditions?
It doesn't seem legitimate to me.
If anyone can assist or advise, I would greatly appreciate it.
