Laptop issue now out of warranty

Hello I bought a Asus chromebook from Currys and had an issue with it during its warranty. Asus picked the laptop up and said they were going to fix it. I have now gone to use it and it has the same issue. I contacted Asus and they said it’s now outside warranty (which it now is) and I’ll have to pay to get it fixed. Can they do this even though the problem existed and they were aware of it during my warranty.

I think you'll struggle, then. Warranty rights are set out in the terms and conditions of the warranty, so they can have a 'hard stop' on when they'll accept a warranty claim. Leaving it 2-3 months to check the fix they supposedly made was a mistake. All you can do is appeal to their good nature to see if they'll help, perhaps explaining why you didn't get round to using it for 2-3 months.0

If you had checked it after you received it back rather than leaving it for a quarter of a year knowing that the warranty period was running out might have been a better idea.0
