Hi all
i booked a uk cottage in Somerset earlier this year for a 3 night trip next summer (2022) to attend a family wedding. I paid the deposit of £270 and took out the booking agents “cancellation cover” for an extra £37.
The wedding has now been relocated to a completely different location (London) due to the couple needing to save money to start treatment for IVF. The cottage company are saying my cancellation cover will only be applicable in certain situations such a shame illness, death, jury service, court attendances etc. None of these apply to my situation.
Does anyone have any info on where I stand with regards to getting my deposit back?
Thanks in advance

What is the wording of your cancellation cover - I doubt it covers change of mind ( or disinclination to travel ) most likely just covers cancellation in specific circumstances, but check for yourself in case there is something that covers your situation. Also check the terms of the booking agent , was it non- refundable deposit?0
