Baby Has Started Awaking at Night

Options
Hi All,

We have been blessed with our 15-month-old in terms of sleeping patterns, however, over the past 4-5 weeks she has begun waking up after a few hours and is unsettled the rest of the night. Is there anything that could be causing this and are there any solutions?

Agree with the above - cutting first molars probably.

Interestingly, molars have not yet appeared. Would it take 4 weeks of upset nights?

Could be a number of things. Trying to remember back to those days! 😂

    Teething
Growth spurt so needing to eat more
    Change in room temperature
    Trapped wind

I do remember with mine at night time during feeds and waking I always kept the room dark and minimal talking so they knew it was sleep time.

    Hope you LO settles.

Welcome to the world of babies.

    She may be cold/hot.

Teething can take a while .  More than one tooth may be coming.

It can also be she is starting to dream.

The room appears OK as we have the egg thermometer at a recommended temperature.

Teething is a big possibility, is there anything that can settle her at night?

Calpol or Calprofen. The drugs do work.

Look up separation anxiety in babies, both of mine suffered from it around that age - usually brilliant sleepers. It was just a phase and they were soon sleeping through again.

When mine got restless during the night one of us got up before they woke. We sat beside the cot and rubbed/patted them on the back. No lights on and no talking. Usually they settled again without waking.

However, my grandson was very difficult to settle during the night and resulted in my son sitting in a rocking chair , cuddling him until he fell asleep again.

Try to get to her before she gets really upset as then,  she will settle more easily.

Last 4/5 weeks it's got a lot darker. Do you use a nightlight?

I'd probably say it's teething or just development.

     Development can cause sleep regression
