The MSE thread that you link to dates back to 2007 - that's 14 years ago.

And fish are still shipped into the UK from around the world which could take a lot longer than a overnight AM delivery from a UK seller.
Where is the difference? I have Koi bought in the UK and puzzled that some of the people that will spend many thousands on one
from Japan or similar. Is buying from ebay is any worse?
Bought sub 2" fry from a large UK business with a showroom, the delivery was prompt and labelled as live fish etc.
Detailed instructions on acclimatising the fish and adding small quantitites of water at regular intervals to avoid
issues of the water being different and getting the temperatures equal etc.
Those bought from Japan may need an extended period to bring them back to the quality prized by the owners that spend
a lot of money on them. They can spend many hours being transported.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...2 -

That's 14 Years of fish being posted through the post via unscrupulous sellers, some of whom refer to fish as 'item' and go to lengths to make clear their DOA (dead on arrival) policy, so that buyers can be reassured in the event of a DOA, either a replacement 'item' to be posted or money refunded. Postage refunds are not an option.
Having just searched on ebay a couple of moments ago, it took seconds to find live fish being offer with postage options of Royal Mail or APC, two companies that will not ship live fish (or dead fish).
Example ebay AD:
Dwarf Yellow Puffer Freshwater FishPrice: £4.00Postage: £15.00
PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE PURCHASING!
RETURNSNo refunds on postageIn the unfortunate event of fish that arrive dead, please contact us immediately and return the deceased fish in a jiffy bag to the address provided, once confirmed you will be offered a refund or a replacement. Photographic evidence can also be acceptedPostage costs £15.00 by Royal Mail next day service or APC next day. We only post Monday – Thursday, delivery day to be confirmed with buyer.
We can combine shipping costs for other fish as well. When using a 24 hour courier you can purchase as many fish as you wish with no extra delivery charge other than the initial payment you make for postage. If buying more than one item please wait for invoice before payment is made. Some areas may not be covered by next day delivery or may incur a higher shipping cost (some highlands & islands) please feel free to contact us for confirmation of shipping costs.
Example ebay Feedback:
The seler, despite many attempts, does not respond, the fish arrived within 48 hours. Out of 5, two were dead and the others were in terrible condition.
The fish were poorly treated and starved to death, the fish he sent me were babies there was no 3cm rule. They were thin and dying and several dead fish arrived and the seller refused to return the money even with evidence, he left to reply to messages! Poor customer service, and the fish look completely different from the picture and he even send me a corydora with broken spine! Wont buy never again, only wants the money and doesn't even care about the fish
Their pygmy puffer fish was just so small and thin. 1 was arrived dead, and another 2 was so weak and couldn't survive the night. I emailed them for refdu for the one which had been dead upon arrival, but they haven't answered my email. Never use this seller for the fish ever again!!
They was all dead please can I have a refund have sent pictures
All arrived dead with white eyes do not buy
hi, I received the 10 Cardinal Tetra, but 3 were dead at arrival, 2 more a few hours later
All fish died , very underfed completely ignored by seller
4/5 DOA, they’re not interested, ignore emails, trying for replacement 2.5 weeks
In post for 4 DAYS. All dead, suddenly no response when asked for refund. Avoid!
Arrived dead, contacted no response
Arrived DEAD ,got awkward when i asked for refund

What exactly do you want to get out of posting on here?
Do you want to stop eBay selling live fish and shipping by post?
Do you want the sale of live fish on eBay stopped completely?
Do you want to stop the sale of live fish and shipment by post completely?
Do you want other posters to support you?
Do you want other posters to take some action that you think they should take? Like bombard eBay with complaints...?
Do you think the originator of the 14 year old thread did anything to stop eBay allowing the sale of live fish?
I could understand it if you were running some sort of campaign to stop whatever it is you object to (but this board is the wrong place for campaigns).
I don't think posting random feedback taken from an eBay seller's account is going to achieve anything.
FTR, I have only ever bought fish (freshwater tropical and cold water) from a reputable supplier that is reasonably local.

What do you want fish sellers to do? Deliver the fish in person? We haven't bought off eBay but we have bought from FB fish groups, or rather a specific fish group. Obviously I'm not going to start naming names for people to go grabbing their pitch forks. When they were using RM they used guaranteed next day special delivery. The fish was very well insulated with heat packs, polystyrene, plastic etc and when outside temperatures dropped they would no longer post and would operate collection only.3

I've delivered live fish, crickets and other bugs for people who keep reptiles. Live fish are sent by Special Delivery well padded in a polystyrene container.

So the issue is not about selling fish on ebay in general? You were quite happy to purchase them in that way.
The issues seems to be you chose the wrong seller? If you can ship live fish and almost anything across the world
then whats the issue shipping across the UK?
Choose better sellers, if they have terms that waffle on about DOA then move onto another seller.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...1 -

I asked that in my post up-thread.
Perhaps the OP doesn't have any fish at all and this is just a self-righteous vent based on a 14 year old thread.2
