Bill that we have paid sent to Debt Collection - What next?

Hi all, bit of background here...
We moved into a new property in mid-May. The Gas & Electric supplier was Together Energy. We did the usual thing of contacting them to set up an account and once that was set up we would see who was cheapest for us and possible switch away.
After phoning them and being put through to the wrong department that was already closed, emailing them and getting no response, filling out an online form, and finally phoning them again and speaking to an actual person; I gave them the opening meter readings and all the other details. I then spent the next 6 weeks waiting for them to set the account up, and having to phone up to see what was going on, as apparently whoever you speak to on the phone or by email just passes the information onto another person (who then takes an age to actually do anything). I finally got completely fed up by the non-existent customer service and asked them if I had to wait until the account was set up before switching. The answer was no, so we switched away (to Igloo, who have now gone bust, but that's a whole other complicated saga) and gave them our final meter readings.
On the 14th July we got a bill through the door to 'Occupier' for the final bill. I phoned them up, and they confirmed that they had all my details linked to the account even though I'd not been told that it was finally set up (not that it mattered by then) and the bill didn't have my name on it!
I paid the bill over the phone right then and there, got a transaction ID, a WORLDPAY email receipt, shortly followed by a credit card statement with the transaction showing paid to Together Energy.
Fast forward to today, and I get an email from Credit Resource Solutions - a debt collection company, saying sorry they couldn't come to a suitable resolution regarding the outstanding balance owed to Together Energy. The amount matches that which I paid on the 14th July.
I have emailed CRS and Together Energy explaining that we have paid the money, attaching the Worldpay receipt with the transaction number on it and offering to send them a copy of the credit card statement if I need to.
I have never had to deal with a debt collection agency before, so my question is - if they insist that for some reason we still owe the money, what is the next step in fighting this? I don't want to suddenly find I have a CCJ messing up my excellent credit score over a bill that we have already paid, and equally I don't want to give them more money when we have already paid it!
Thanks

You can't suddenly have a CCJ against you. At this stage, they are just hired goons asking for money. They have no right to do anything to you, and you can just keep repeating that you have already paid. You can only have a CCJ if the people alleging you owe them money, and you either don't turn up to defend yourself, or you lost the case in court. If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.1 -
Also, from memory, the debt collection agency Together Energy use just so happens to be located at the same address, so its just Together Energy using a different name to try and scare people.1
