Oil is a finite resource and the number of vehicles using it is increasing every year.  Petrol/Diesel aren't going to get any cheaper.

It's not a matter of what I *think*, it's a matter of what is actually happening.  Not in western countries that already have relatively high levels of car ownership, but in places where, historically, far fewer people have owned cars - India for instance.
