REFUND FROM PEOPLES ENERGY MOVED TO B GAS

Options
Hi good peeps. I was moved to B Gas when pe went bust. I have over £200 credit. B Gas do not answer their phone or reply to email when I try to contact them. Hiw to I get this refund? Will the credit come with me when I move to Ron or Sainsburys?
Thanks 🙏

Are you a BG customer now (I guess not but you talk about "when you move" so you might not have done so yet)?
If you are a BG customer, your PE credit will appear as the opening balance on your first BG bill. This is likely to take 3-4 months.
If you aren't a BG customer, BG will refund your credit once they get around to reconciling the accounts of former PE customers. This could take 6+ months (in previous SoLR situations, it has sometimes taken more than a year).

Have you seen the British Gas page for People's Energy customers? https://www.britishgas.co.uk/energy/peoples-energy.html

Sounds like they've not even started resolving final account balances yet.  It will take time unfortunately.

Certainly not how it worked from YE to SP, SP were billing pretty much everyone before YE balances were showing as credits...

Might be better to hold the line of once the accounts have been reconciled, then the credit will appear.

I think the time it takes to integrate the bust supplier into the SoLR dpends greatly on whether the customer had been sending regular meter readings and making sure that the bills were up do date and not mainly composed of estimates.

Secondly it would also depend on how well the bust suppliers records were maintained and how ieasy their billing and accounting systems can be integrated (or not) into the SoLR's system.

I've so far been with four bust suppliers GB Energy who seemed to integrate well with Co-op Energy and my credit was transferred, IRESA who were a shambles but as I had all my info to hand my transition to Octopus went smoothly (although I undersatnd many others had to wait months) my credit was transferred.

I had just left Eversmart the day before they ceased and it took around four months to get my credit back from the administrators after a couple of stiff letters but I understand that some people waited over a year.

I'm now in transition between SYMBIO and Eon and so I'm waiting with keen anticipation to see what happens as this time I've got a more substantial credit than I normally acheive. We'd only been with SYMBIO for two months and I'd paid three DD's but my consumption was at the summer level.

My account was up to date with accurate readings (including the day they went bust) so theres no reason for anything to go awry apart from SYMBIO's strange billing system which used random fictitious forward estimates to produce bills.
