Autocare - yes or no

Has anyone got any recent feedback on Arnold Clark Autocare

I don't usually bother with extended warranties but I've just bought a 6 year old Citroen Berlingo with semi- auto gearbox

The list of what's covered seems reasonably good - any thoughts welcome, thanks

    I don't get this mentality.
Yes, I know AC have their detractors, but they are a means to an end.
If they have the best deal on a new car, why the hell avoid them when you need never use the again after that?

Would you not though. Not every car purchase is smooth sailing and it's usually when things go wrong that the likes of companies likes this come into their fore, and not in a good way. I'd prefer to buy from somewhere with a better reputation for customer service.

Also, the OP has mentioned the cost of the above warranty.
  • Arnold Clark are not great, once you have bought the car they don’t want to know you.
As for extended warranties, I’ve got one for my Peugeot through Peugeot direct.
Washers stopped working as such just a splash was hitting the bottom of the  screen below wipers, so when it went in for service and mot in September I claimed. It should have failed the mot so mot insurance should cover it if not the warranty.
Garage looked and said blocked jets and not covered, but passed mot ??????.
I was gobsmacked as should have failed mot as a minimum.
I did not believe them and tried to figure it out myself.
Bonnet up jets work, down and stop working.
Got mate to spray washers while lifting the bonnet up and down, found the washer pipe was split.
Going in Thursday under warranty to be fixed.
The issue is I had to prove what was wrong to make a claim on warranty. Garage lied about cause.
1 metre washer pipe £80 Plus 1 hours labour £120.
They wanted £160 to change the pump as well just in case. Not part of claim.
Genuine Peugeot washer pump £16 on eBay and 10 minutes to fit.
    Warranty good claiming difficult.
They must get paid less per hour and don’t want the work.
