Good morning everyone
It was absolutely chucking it down first thing this morning but it has cheered up now and there is a bit of sunshine. It is still quite chilly though so I will be well wrapped up today.
I feel like I have put a bit of weight back on so I am back on my diet from today. I would like to lose a stone before Christmas so I have made a meal plan for the week and organized my shopping accordingly. I feel very positive today about it all and I wish I could bottle the feeling for when it is tougher.
I have almost finished another hat. My sister came and collected a hat and an upside down doll yesterday. My living room was chock a block with my sister and her family and Jemima and the grandchildren were here as well. My lot were hiding upstairs which is quite usual.
Sausage traybake for dinner tonight. I have to chop up a pumpkin for it but I might ask Steve to do that bit of the meal prep. Other than that I am happy to chop up and cook all the veg for it.
Hope you all have a lovely day, take care xx10 -
Morning all. Back to Wales again today until Thursday to be back for the funeral Friday. A guy is coming to empty the shed on Wednesday. I have to take the contract back to the solicitors, empty the house of any remaining bits, some pictures, etc, which I will do today before my sister sees anything. On the plus side, I've listed five things to sell which will finish next Sunday so if they sell, I can parcel some of it and it can go. Trying to get my head round organising, who's coming when, what's going where and when is quite tiring. I'll be glad when it's over. Things I would have taken in my stride previously now look like 5 bar gates to jump over. Got to jump them though otherwise I'll end up being scared to say boo to my own shadow. However, as evidence by the previous sentence, I will never worry about mixing my idioms....NRA, how awful for you, it's like he's lost in a beauracratic nightmare. Hope you can visit him soon. He and you must feel very powerless. I swear hospital wards are organised so you can't get a straight answer out of anyone.. Glad you had nice holidays Scarlet, a change really helps sometimes. Stay safe everyone and I may be patchy posting this week and next....Take care!Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi10

Hello all, long time no see, sorry. I have a lot of ongoing health issues and I felt that every time I posted I was moaning. No one needs to hear about all my problems when you have problems of your own to contend with.We should have been picking up our boat for our Norfolk Broads hols today but DGD tested positive on Sat for the virus. Poor thing she was so upset that she'd put the kybosh on things ( we were going away with DD and family) so we've been telling her it's no-ones fault. Luckily she feels fine with no symptoms but she was here on Thursday for a short while so we're also watching and waiting just in case too 😱 This morning I have been unpacking and putting everything away but we have deferred our hols till Feb.... we'll probably have snow or the river will be frozen then, but I don't care, I'm going !! The silver lining is the house was cleaned and tidied before the hols were called off, so nothing to do there !Yesterday it was Dad's 92nd birthday and also our anniversary. We had taken Dad for a birthday meal last week as we would be travelling and couldn't be here on the day and we had no special food in the house for our anniversary, so we ordered a chinese takeaway, yum, yum. T'was very naughty and there's enough left over for tonight 😋The drive man has been contacted again this morning (he was put on hold for this week and will get back to us later with a new date ) but we want to remove about half a ton of decorative gravel from the edge before he starts, I'm not letting them go into a skip as they were really expensive, so hopefully we can start on that after lunch if the rain holds off. Cheapskate 😁I am hoping I can get back into posting again, if my hands will allow me to type, some days it's a struggle to hit the right letter on the keyboard.Take care all, lots of love and hugs to everyone. Hope Nels is on the mend too.nan xx
Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently11 -
Nanny, I'm glad you're back, I asked about you a few times, I'm sorry your holiday has had to be cancelled.
I tried to post this morning but my laptop mouse thing was behaving really oddly and I gave up. It seems to have recovered after rebooting.
We are having carpets fitted on the stairs (2 flights) and two bedrooms here, the fitters have been here since 8.30, hopefully they have nearly finished. Then I need to go into Settle to get something for dinner and to pick up a parcel. We also need to replace the rug in the dining room, we brought the new one with us but it means moving the very heavy table so we'll do it later.

Had some rain this morning but okay now.
The officers are away at a conference this week so no SA activities apart from emergency food parcels.
Finished 6 gnomes today.

Good afternoon,
Late one from me, the day has run away with me.
I had a bit of a lie in then went for a walk, it was bright and sunny this morning.
It has poured down this afternoon so I have spent the afternoon baking as my sister and nephew & niece are visiting my Mother for half term. I've also made a cottage pie for our tea.
Have a good day x7 -
