O/S Daily Monday 25 October 2021
This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Now getting light, dry underfoot.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy.
Lunch yesterday was roast beef, which was delicious and some left with LO mash, yorkshires etc, so enough to make another meal. Tonight dinner will be either fish or HM chicken and mushroom pie - will decide later - but good to have done food prep again yesterday which then makes dinner times in the working week easier.
Work will be busy as usual - hopefully not too bad - we'll see.
Keep safe and well x

Morning All
I'm off swimming this morning, trying to get back to a routine. Now the nights are darker it's harder to go out again in the evening.
Bought quite a few Christmas presents yesterday, feels good to be ahead. Costco was very busy but the queue at the checkout went down quite quickly. Bought a mega pack of big sausages (I don't eat a lot of meat but I do like sausages), had some for tea and the rest are in the freezer.
Hoping you are all well, have a happy Monday, take care. XX13 -
Good morning, and thanks for starting NMLC.I've been missing for a couple of weeks because we've been away twice, but I think that'll be it now, till Spring next year.I haven't read back, so I'm hoping that everyone is all right, I'll soon get back into the swim. We've got the two young dgc's today, so we are taking them to the seaside if it stays fine, the forecast is ok I think.Hope everyone has a good day today, take care folks.14

Morning folks. Welcome back Scarlet.Camelot - I admire your resolve! 👏
Yesterday I did what I planned, made the big pot of chilli and scanned a huge pile of papers into my laptop. And then did odd bits and pieces around my home.Today I'm back down to Glasgow as I have a couple of things to get done that I couldn't do last week. No staying overnight this time. There was a load of rain during the night and it sounds very blustery outside, I'm hoping it all lift soon.Happy Monday to all.14 -
Morning all
Cold here this morning and I think there may have been a frost, off to work for me and I am going to try and do a full day so I expect to be completly shattered tonight.
We went for a lovely walk in the woods yesterday and came back and I did a roast pork it was very nice and there is enough for today too.
DW will need emptying this morning and I shall put a wash on before I go to work, it will have to go in the TD tonight.
NRA sorry to hear about your dad what a shame you cant visit xxx
Have good days all xxx12 -
Morning folks and thanks NMLC for the new Daily. Welcome back SCARLET I was wondering where you had disappeared to.
There is evidence of overnight rain but a dry day is forecast. That's the best time for rain to fall!
I have just had a text telling me my shopping delivery this morning will be all p & c, with no missing items. It's an order with lots of batch cooking in mind for this week. Maybe that will happen on Wednesday as no other plans. I have the hairdresser coming around lunchtime today and I am hoping she is not too scissor happy as I don't need much off at all. If she is stressed about anything the scissors are flying at speed whilst you get the full story! She does my bf's before coming up to me and she usually texts telling me what to expect!
DD and the 2 younger girls have gone to the caravan for their last stay before the site shuts early November. An early Halloween party is planned for all the other kids that are there. She called in with some sewing for me to do before they set off so I will try and get that out of the way today. It's not often the machine comes out these days and when it does it's usually just for alterations.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for the poorlies, poorly loved ones and MIA. Take care one and all and stay safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"15 -
Morning everyone
Off work this week so I've had a nice lie in. Stripped my bed so that will go on the line, as it's meant to be dry today. Discovered my electric blanket no longer worked when I put it on the other night so I have a new one coming from Amazon today. I do like my bed nice and warm when I get in.
Lots of little jobs to do this week while I'm not at work so will make a start this morning. Might go for lunch with DD - a grown up lunch as little one is at nursery - DD didn't feel too well yesterday so will wait and see.
No doubt little one will be up for tea later - I took some sausages out of the freezer.
Tomorrow I'm getting the train to Newcastle - need some bits for myself and will do some Christmas shopping.
Hope everyone has a good day today12 -
Morning, hugs if you need one.
A bright, but I suspect cold morning, DB needs to find the fleece and wrap up the plants in the greenhouse. I think I will be putting the gardener on stand by after this week, the garden is tidy strulch down, just the bulbs to plant in the pots ready for spring.
No laundry today, did it yesterday, will have to do a white wash later in the week.
No ill effects for either of us to the jabs, my left arm is still a bit tender but no real problem.
Cleaner due today.
I managed to get both bits of embroidery done, now need to mount them in the cards, I managed to ruin one.......typical. I now need to start on the book pillow for B.
No idea whats for supper, what ever it is we have apple crumble for dessert.
