Window dressing for bathroom
I've been debating for ages how to deal with a bathroom window, small rectangle.
It is visible every time you move from room to room and it looks onto my close neighbours orange fence and orange brick garage which is depressing.
I've tried verticle blinds in pale white that lets in some light, a cotton net curtain which also lets in light but I really wanted to find some way of making it look like sunshine and blue skies.
I've considered film - problem cleaning windows and condensationas it's bathroom, roller or roman blind but they wouldn't let the light in.
Even considered painting the window but I don't think I'd get a good finish or the light.
Looked at getting a piece of fused glass but that's really pricey.
I've looked at thin polycotton and voile. One doesn't let in enough light, the other I can see the bricks.
The theme, because we've been stuck in so long and I miss my tropical sea trips is - tropical sea/beaches so I've even thought about shells, driftwood or thin glass 'tank' with sand and stuff in it but I'd just like something fairly plain or I'll end up in the realms of crazy
I wondered among so many crafters if there was a type of material that
would let the light through but allow me to have some colour other than
orange brick?
I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

I cut down a shower curtain to cover our bathroom window, it matches the shower curtain over the bath. is mainly white with a pattern so plenty of light comes in. I actually have it hang about 12 inches above the windowsill so we can have toothbrushes etc standing on there but it still gives plenty of privacy. The woven nylon shower curtains wash well and I discovered (using them in my sewing hobby) that they can be ironed too. I'm sure if you trawl around the 'net you could find a tropical themed shower curtain?Decluttering, 20 mins / day Jan 2024 2/23

Thats a good idea. Thanks for that. Never occurred to me - obviously.....
I did look on the net for shower curtains but the ones I liked were wildly expensive. Really amazing. Once seen Argos isn't the same.
I bought a mix of paints to make my own but haven't got round to it. Maybe a winter rainy day
It's too easy to get carried away having fun and I'm trying to keep this classy ish. It's taking some restraint which isn't something I practice a lot lately.I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

That sounds fun though. A plain white cheap shower curtain hand painted would be amazing!!

Maybe!
At least it's easy to replace if it all goes horribly wrong.
Had good success with emulsion and a suitcase. No mistaking mine. Nor can anyone run off with itI can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

Would some type of window film on the windo glass work. It looks like you can find places doing different designs - perhaps something like this.
