Hi, I am looking for a DATA only SIM to install in the android system in my car. I would like a SIM with data package which does not expire.
Three Preloaded 24GB Data SIM @ £60 which lasts for 24 months, seems to be my best option ???

How much data do you need?1

How long is a piece of string? I am guessing 1GB per month will be enough. I really have no idea e.g. how much I will use when using google maps.

The free data options probably not enough then.
I use downloaded maps to keep data use down mainly traffic and routing updates.1 -
I used that card in my Volvo, for traffic, map updates and Spotify. I had loads of data left on it when it expired. However, the basic maps where on the system.missile said:Hi, I am looking for a DATA only SIM to install in the android system in my car. Is it not feasible to set your phone as a hotspot and let the car use that for the data connection?Jenni x1

I use my phone, but also bought the 3 sim as 1) my car has a rooftop aerial, and I thought it would be a better connection than the phone in my pocket and 2) I wanted to be able to choose the strongest network when travelling, especially abroad.
As it turns out, there was negligible difference in car v phone signal strength, and Vodafone now has much better coverage in Europe (where I go anyway) so the 3 sim now offers little advantage. I get 8gb data per month on my phone, which is more than enough. However, I guess I now have to factor in European roaming charges again....0 -
Giffgaff (who I am with) have just increased their £10 goodybag from 8GB to 12GB, and they still list European roaming in the feature set (or did when I last looked a week or so ago).Jenni x0
