Heads up for Morrisons shoppers - new parking arrangements

Hi everyone,
I've been to our local Morrisons (Binley Coventry) for my weekly grocery shopping and I noticed something when I was queuing to take some money out of the hole in the wall: they now have a sign saying that if you need more than 3 hours of parking, you need to pay once you've parked - the sign's emblazoned with the logos of "Your Parking Space".
My first question would be: how many people will know upon arrival that they'll need more than 3 hours to shop?
Also, the signage for "Your Parking Space" around the car park is mounted above the existing signage for Euro Car Parks (I'll confirm this and try to get photos on my next visit, I was carrying shopping when I noticed them) - this existing signage is more than 6 feet (1.83 metres) above ground (I measured this by standing under one of the signs and looking up to see the bottom edge of it a few inches above me.
This existing sign is, by my estimation, at least 1 foot (30 cm) high, so the new "Your Parking Space" signage is at least 7-8 feet off the ground and there's no way, imo, a driver could easily read it from seating. Even the wall-mounted sign I saw is in a short-stay area for the ATMs.
I thought I'd post this as a pre-warning for others who shop at Morrisons and ask them to check their local store on their next visit: fyi, I don't drive or have a car, so I have to walk or use public transport to get anywhere.

Who on earth would need more than 3 hours of Morrisons?
Even if you include having lunch and a pharmacy consultation.
it sounds to me like they are trying to stop people using it as a convenient long stay4 -

Dear Morrisons
Other supermarkets are available! If you are trying to drive your ex-customers to them this tactic will do it.2 -

At the end of the day this is Morrison’s choice.
its not a right to have long stay free parking.
i care deeply for disabled people. I just don’t believe there are any severely affected with “marathon” levels of stamina.
if that was me I’d be campaigning with my marathon levels of stamina so I expect to hear from them.1 -
This is better than a £100 PCN for staying over 3 hours and this is what more retailers should do IMHO, including operating as a pay and display car park at night when the store is closed (why not, especially in cities where people would use it?).
As for the 3 hours, don't assume the driver is only using Morrisons. There are plenty of store car parks that only got Planning Permission in the basis that people can leave the site and use it to visit local shops. Therefore they may well want to stay longer and have lunch locally.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Our Morrisons has been there for a long time, and there's a relatively new shopping park built behind it with its own car park that's "managed" by a PPC, but I've seen someone employed to walk around the car park periodically and check cars, taking photos - iirc, they did have a radio with them so hopefully they can go into the shops and ask for a PA announcement to mitigate problems before issuing fines, but I wasn't around long enough to see what they actually do after taking their photo.1

Far too much competition around for Morrisons to dictate to customers how long they should stay to spend their money ?
The more products they put in stores like clothes, electricals etc and a cafe, maybe 3 hrs for a family is not enough.
I somehow think this is not Morrisons but the parking company with a new wheeze to catch people out ??
All supermarkets were sucked in with the word "ABUSE" ..... maybe the few who will pop in to buy something anyway.

Morrisons are being taken over by a US company. Another British firm sold.

So I was at Morrisons today and this is the photo I took showing one set of signs in the car park:
The lower sign is a little more than 6 feet (1.83 metres) off the ground.2
