Satnav with bluetooth ?

Just had my email comic from Lidl and the satnav caught my eye. I'm not going to buy one and am not asking the proverbial "Is this any good" chestnut but I would be obliged if someone could explain part of the spec to me.
It states, "With Bluetooth for hands-free calling". Is this a combined mobile/satnav or is it a typo ? Link is here http://www.lidl.co.uk/uk/home.nsf/pages/c.o.20071217.p.Satellite_Navigation_System.ar3
I'm a technothicky and am merely enquiring out of curiosity.

This means you can use the SatNav as a mobile hands free device.

So you connect your mobile to the SatNav via Bluetooth then you can make hands free phone calls using the speaker and built in microphone on the satnav.

I have a Tomtom myself which has the same features.

The satnav connects to your phone and the satnav speaker becomes your phone speaker. My satnav had an ear attachment which came with it which has my microphone on it. Very snazzy it is. :)

Mine also allows me to read texts through the satnav screen which i think is ridiculously dangerous myself.

For confirmation: No, I'm not a 40 year old woman, I'm a 26 year old bloke!
  • Many thanks, isn't technology wonderful nowadays ? (I warned you that I was a technothicky) I'll stick with my old one which merely tells me how to get where I'm going (most of the time).

I wouldn't recommend getting a new sat nav just for the bluetooth thing. It's not that good to be fair. I never use it!

Can't concentrate on two things at once being a bloke!
