My friend is coming over to Scotland from Germany for two days in November. Will she need a PCR test? We are staying in a holiday cottage and if she orders a pcr test it may arrive to an empty house and she will have returned to Germany. Can’t seem to find an answer anywhere so hope someone will be able to advise. Thanks
Waddle you do eh?

Yes your friend will need a PCR test .
Not sure where you have been looking The answer is here : https://www.gov.scot/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-international-travel-quarantine/pages/red-amber-and-green-list-countries/
Is your friend over 18 and fully vaccinated?“Over 18, fully vaccinated and travelling from non-red list countries and territories
If you’ve not been in a country or territory that is on Scotland’s red list within 10 days of arriving in Scotland, and you’re fully vaccinated, you must:
- complete a passenger locator form
- take a COVID-19 PCR test within 2 days of arriving in Scotland – you can use the CTM booking portal to book and pay £68 for an NHS COVID-19 PCR test, or you can buy a test from a list of private providers In England (at the moment, you should only buy ‘self-swab at home’ tests)”
The COVID test must be taken within 2 days so could be ordered to be delivered to your address before she arrives so that she can do the test on the day she arrives.
If you friend is not vaccinated they have to self isolate as well as book Day 2 & 8 tests ( even if only here for 2 days )0
