Voluntary right to buy for housing association tenants

Hi all,

Appreciate this may be a divisive topic but interested to hear people's thoughts on the above. Also, do we think this will ever happen? It was promised by the conservatives in their manifesto in 2015 but following various pilots etc. there has been very little in the way of news/timescales.

VRTB invests the full sale price back into new social housing so would help reduce a housing shortage.

Who believes that is true in reality? There always seems to be a way around these 'ring fencing' ideas.

HAs want to build homes, this finances them so why wouldn't they? A fundamental part of the agreement is that replacement homes are built, its not optional.
