Refund due to Coronavirus policy

Hi,
I have tickets for a show, but I feel the theatre isn't taking adequate covid precautions (merely asking people to wear masks while moving around the auditorium. Another local venue is doing spot temperature checks, requesting masks full time and covid passes). Have I got a right to a refund - they're refusing now. As someone from an extremely vulnerable it feels discriminatory.
Thanks!

You will only have an entitlement to refund if they are failing to implement mandatory requirements. It doesn't seem to be the case here as much is now advisory. Which country are you in as the rules vary.

I don't think so. Temperature checks and Covid passes are not mandatory in England.
Come on you Irons0 -
Thanks. I should have said it's in England. It's just very frustrating that stuff is recommended but not mandated meaning theatres can't easily enforce and people like me are losing considerable amounts of money.0

temperature checks also don't really do much, they were brought in early on in the pandemic, but now testing and masks are much more useful.
Government doesn't say they have to do anything anymore, so masks ebing enforced is probably best you are going to get.0 -
Did you book prior to March last year? If so, I'm surprised that they haven't offered a refund or credit etc at an earlier stage. If you've bought more recently then the onus would be on you to check what the theatre's policy is for theatre goers, especially once all legal restrictions were lifted in the summer. They are all different in their requirements.Boudica78 said:Thanks. I should have said it's in England. It may be worth asking whether they would allow you a credit note so you can book for a different production in future, when you safer.
