  • NSD!!! Whoop whoop! I’m thinking organisation is part of the key to this. So this evening while dinner was cooking I prepared myself lunch for tomorrow. This is a big down fall of mine - buying lunch at work.  Not sure tomorrow will be as think we will need milk.

Took smallest DD out for a nice walk this evening with the dog. Was so nice to spend some one on one time with her, I really need to try and do it more often, she loved it as did I.

No interest in my items I’ve advertised but will be looking for more items over the weekend to sell.

Work was long today, thrown in the deep end with some tasks I’ve not attempted before but it was a nice challenge.  Going to nap now before second job in a few hours.

  • Small spend today of £3.75 in local shop and I gave DD £8.55 to meet her friends but last 2 days have been NSD!! So that’s 3 in total, won’t make my target of 5 by the end of the month as I need fuel tomorrow and I’m going to need to do some shopping for dinners and packed lunches for going back to school next week. I have however been taking my own lunches to work which I’ve come to realise how much I used to spend on lunches which aren’t even particularly healthy either.

The fuel is bothering me, I didn’t really appreciate how expensive my car is to run. since having my lightbulb moment I have thought about where I’m going and why. I’ve only used the car for journeys I’ve needed to go on rather than my usual running the kids around.  I’ve only been to work which is extremely local (around 2 or 3 miles) and to OH (around 8 miles) 3 times and it’s cost me £60 in fuel 😱 there’s no way I can maintain that.  But I can’t afford to sell it (I’m pretty sure it’s not worth much) and get a different one.  Am going to have to think.

Am working job number one tomorrow followed by job number two tomorrow night. Then Sunday I have a small overtime shift for job number one. No real plans other than OH taking DD’s out trick or treating Sunday evening and looking for Halloween decorations. I’m probably going to stay at home while they are out and sleep!
  • Oooooh just checked my item and it has 40 minutes left and someone has bid on it!! Very excited by this!

I think fuel has gone up so much in price recently - that that too is catching people out. Good luck with finding the right balance. Well done on taking lunch to work and doing overtime. It all makes a difference.

Sounds like you have a bit of a gas guzzler? Worth considering trading in for something more efficient perhaps.
  • Oh dear! Didn’t realise it had been so long since I posted.  Still been very aware of my spending and really thinking about it before purchasing anything. Things have probably slipped a bit if I’m honest though.

I was really struggling with my second job as the hours were so unsociable and I was so tired all the time. I’ve managed to find another job so have now left that job and think the new one will not only be more suitable for my life style but that I’ll actually enjoy the work more too. Although it does mean my next day off is Xmas day.  Pay days I think may take some getting used to though as they are every two weeks, not sure if this will throw me out or not yet.

I’ve started getting organised for Xmas and have been using a app that helps you be organised. It also keeps a running total of your spending. Despite really cutting back this year I’m shocked by watching it add up and it’s really highlighting to me how much I must have spent in previous years.

Looking after the baby today so eldest DD can go to work and off to a birthday party this afternoon with youngest DD.  Then off to work myself this evening.  Am also going to need to have a tidy up and do some washing.  Have a huge frog to sort out on Monday that I’m dreading 😟
