Bank Smart PPI- ignore ???

I’m starting to get breach of contract notices from this company. I did sign a contract with them and although they have got me no monies at all, they want roughly £350 for each company they tried to reclaim PPI.
They did send me letters asking for bits and pieces to which I never replied.
they will threaten their debt recovery MIL company.
Is it safe just to ignore all this harassment?

Probably not.  Ask them for a copy of the contract.

The contract currently on the website says if the customer fails to cooperate with the claim process they are liable for a fee of up to £400 + VAT per claim.

Whether a court would agree this is in any way reasonable is unknown, but as you say, it's probably a bad idea to ignore them.

I’ve recently asked for everything they have on me under GDRP and the letter of authority I signed is dated 19-08-2019.
  • If you made a legitimate complaint in good faith and you happen to not have got PPI or the policy was not miss-sold, then that is one of those things. If they are trying to charge you for each case, it sounds like it's a time waster fee e.g. you had already complained about PPI, were rejected / told there was no PPI and you then used a CMC to do the same, their terms would allow them to charge you

Likewise, if you engaged them and then didn’t give them the information they requested, they’ll charge a time waster fee (as above).

you may very well end up having to take this one on the chin.
    helpful tips
    it's spelt d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y
there - 'in or at that place'
    their - 'owned by them'
    they're - 'they are'
it's bought not brought (i just bought my chicken a suit from that new shop for £6.34)

Yes I missed that bit, it would depend I guess if the CMC can justify their fees - £350 for them sending a letter to OP asking for details is a bit much. A couple of hours "work" doing things like DSAR to the lenders and hunting through the resulting paperwork is more arguable that the OP needs to pay up.
