Moved house after Green Energy went bust - how to avoid expensive tariff?

Hi,
I moved house on the 15th October, after Green Energy went bust but before my Shell Energy account was fully set up.
I contacted Shell Energy advising them of the move, thinking that they'd just transfer my account to the new address but they've just emailed me to say thanks for telling them about my house move, they're generating my final bill*, give them a ring after I've been transferred to the new address's current provider (no idea who that is) to re-register.
My question is: How do I navigate this mess and still end up being protected by Ofgem's supplier of last resort rules and the "deemed tariff"? I feel like I'm about to fall through a crack in the protections provided by this process purely because of a house move that I didn't really have any control over the date of (I wasn't exactly going to hold up the whole chain just because my energy provider went bust)
Can I ask Shell Energy to transfer my SoLR account to the new address, rather than having to register with the current provider and then go back to Shell Energy begging (where, presumably, they'll offer me a much more expensive tariff than what I'd get through the Ofgem process)?
I just can't believe I'm about to end up on a really expensive tariff for no fault of my own when the vast majority of other Green Energy customers will be protected.
Thanks.
*My last meter reading was significantly lower than the latest estimate from Green - so presumably I'm due a refund on the last bill - but not really relevant to this discussion.

You do not have a problem. The existing supplier at your new address will have you on a deemed tariff that is limited by the Ofgem cap.Find out who it is, open an account with them and do not pick a different tariff.

Just make sure you gave Shell the final reading and your new address so they can close the account and bill you accordingly. You can't transfer it to the new property. At the new property just register with the incumbent supplier(s) and stay on the deemed tariff which is capped. Don't try to switch to new suppliers, don't sign up to any new tariff that you are offered.Find My Electricity Supplier1
