Strange issue with boiler - (Baxi Bermuda 401 - Vintage) - no central heating!

Hello folks, just fired up the boiler for the winter and booked in a service and i'm having an odd issue, the hot water heats up fine, scalding hot but the boiler refuses to fire up the central heating. 1- turn room stat upto 30
2- switch timer/programmer to heating and hot water
3-find location of pump, if not working give it a wack with a hammer, or take the bleed screw out and turn the spindle
4- if pump not working replace it
5- you can skip 3&4 if you do a electy test

system stat?? I presume that’s a terminology for boiler stat ? If the op is getting hot water, then boiler stat is working.
Op needs to get a plumber in to access the problem
