Is this deal only offered to one person in a household? If others in the house are also on O2 for mobile can they get the double data?0

At present only one person (the named account holder for both O2 and BBand) eligible but will change says the O2 site:I’ve got Virgin Media broadband at my address, but it’s not registered in my name, can I get Volt benefits?Unfortunately, that means you’re not eligible for Volt benefits right now.
If you had Virgin Media broadband in your name, you’d be able to get Volt benefits for all O2 Pay Monthly plans in your name, in your household.
But we’re changing this. Soon, you’ll be able to get Volt benefits through your household’s Virgin Media broadband account – so will anyone else who has their own O2 Pay Monthly plan at your address.
Keep an eye on My O2, you’ll see the option to activate Volt benefits when it becomes available to you.1 -
I have tried yesterday and today to take out the O2/Volt double broadband speed and data at no extra cost and have been told I need to pay £35 for a 1Gb router to double my broadband speed and £24 extra per month and take out a new O2 sim contract. I have spoken to a couple of Virgin Media customer services staff who do not acknowledge this free upgrade. I do not know who to take this up with, as they are in breach of the advertising standards and do not recognise this deal. Can anyone help?0

This link to the VM user forum is one of many that vent about how poor the rollout of this VM/O2 promotion has been

Doesn't help your situation but the thread does mention involving the regulator(s). Have you tried invoking the promotion via your O2 account?1 -

Excellent news, well done. Make sure that all these changes are reflected correctly on your next bill(s).
Do you think there was one thing that you said/did that caused this turnaround? Would be useful to know in case there are others in same situation.0 -
I upgraded to volt and paid £35 for the router. I was not made aware (on chat) that I would have a separate contract with O2. for £25. I understood my contract was only with Virgin media for the cost agreed. I ended my 3 mobile contract on this understanding. (It was only £8 sim only) I have now. O2 have now taken £25 from my bank account. I did not give them my bank details or sign a contract. Does anybody have any ideas on this one.

Were you made aware that your new deal would cost an extra £25/mth? If yes, does it matter if you are billed by Virgin or O2? If no, and you are within your 14 day cooling-off period, then just cancel the whole deal if you are not happy.
@intavia, posts above, was able to obtain the router upgrade free of charge.
MSE's verdict on the Volt promotion was that it was unlikely to offer much value unless you were already a customer of Virgin and O2. What was your reason for wanting to upgrade/sign up?0 -

No router received, no sim card received, on the 23rd i get email that my existing plan is now changed to 1 gig with price going up to 62.
Messaged them on their whatsapp support channel and the guy apologised and said its fixed and will get confirmation email. Nothing received so raised a complaint. I have all screenshots etc. just wondering what did you do to get yours resolved quickly? call a specific number or forums?
