Hi everyone,
My father has been getting loads of telephone calls from various insurance companies selling him insurances for household appliances (tv, washing machine etc) He does not remember taking out any insurances and always gives out his card details! (He is being referred to the memory clinic for a diagnosis) The insurances are paid in full and unfortunately I have discovered these after the 14 day cooling off period. Is there anything I can do to try and claim some of this money back or has he lost it all? Has anyone had any successes with doing this? 3 insurances for the TV, Washing Machine etc and all overlaping! Please help, all advice is welcome. (added note, I have now put his landline on silent to avoid this happening anymore!)

Is there anything I can do to try and claim some of this money back or has he lost it all?As long as they are insurances and not a service plan, then there is useful consumer protection. Insurance sales are regulated and a complaint can be raised with the company that sold them to him. Emphasis on his vulnerable status should be given as it is that which is key to this complaint succeeding.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
