New home with OVO energy supplier

We have recently moved house and the new supplier is OVO none of the comparison websites are giving anywhere near the prices of our previous supplier (bulb).
I haven't contacted OVO yet what are my options?

First you must contact OVO, give them the meter readings from the day you moved in and set up your account and payment method.
It is vital though that you do not pick a new tariff with them, tell them you wish to remain on their deemed tariff which will be a standard variable rate tariff limited by the Ofgem cap.
Switching to another provider isn't likely to deliver anything cheaper unless you look at one of the very small providers that may still be offering a tariff below cost-price but have not yet ceased to trade...

As above previous prices are now long gone .
  • Discovered its actually SSE who is the energy supplier.
After 4 phone calls and nearly 3 hours on the phone they seem to not want the account and are trying everything not answer the phone, they even transferred us to a closed phone service.
So we still don't have an energy account with anyone (we do have an energy supply) after nearly 3 weeks of moving in.

Keep track of your consumption and put aside the money ready to pay when you do sort it out.
You are on a deemed variable capped tariff right now even though you've not managed to speak to anyone about it yet.
If you want a rough guide for your standing charge and unit price we can work that out for you so you don't get behind on the payments, we just need to know roughly where you are so we can make a guess at the electricity region, and if this is both electricity and gas, also if you are single rate or E7....
