Compensation claim companies
Hi,
I was in an RTA a couple of months ago which wasn’t my fault.
A van on the other side of the road to me had an unsecured load of tools of some sort and some of them came flying out the van smashed into the front my car, leading to some quite extensive damage. I’m still extremely shaken up about it, I still don’t have my car back from the repair centre and the injuries I sustained are still causing me issues.

I wasn’t going to put in a claim for compensation but I feel now that I have to as my work has now been affected, as has my physical and mental health.
Just wondering what those in the knows thoughts are, can you recommend any companies who deal with this? Should I go through the legal team that my insurance has or am independent one, such as Digby Brown?
Any advice greatly appreciated.

If you've paid for insurance to assist you with this why would you then consider paying part of your compensation to another firm?
Depending on what injuries you sustained it may fall into the scope of the Whiplash Reforms in which case solicitors outside of your insurance are going to be less excited with the prospects of dealing with the case given the fixed tariffs etc unless they can argue it falls outside of the reforms1 -
Does your insurance give you Legal Cover - If so why pay somebody?

Yes, I have legal cover.I wondered if the claims were true with regards to the outside companies winning larger sums of money, and even after they’ve deducted their share it’s still more than I may have got through my own legal cover. However that’s why I’m here, for help and advice with regards to the best way to go forward with this.0

Insurance company would be my route rather than chancers who will take a substantial sum for their services .

It'll be no surprise that the same companies that insurers use also offer no win, no fee options for those without legal expenses insurance. It would be a major breach of the solicitors code of conduct if they put more effort into the no win, no fee cases than the insurance sponsored work.
Back in my claims days, before the fixed tariff was introduced, we did have a matrix for offers on minor-moderate injuries and who the solicitor was was one of the dimensions however their method of engagement wasnt and the spread was under the 25% most conditional funding solicitors charge.1
