Shared live hosts (self employed) & SMP from employment at same time

Last year, my wife & I become shared live hosts. This is very similar to fostering, but instead of children, it’s adults. We are just about to register as self employed. However, during this, my wife went on maternity leave from her employment due to pregnancy and received statutory maternity leave.
Will this affect anything? I have tried to look online but I find no answers whatsoever! As carers, all our income is tax free as we are under the allocated allowance. However, what we are nervous about is my wife receiving the statutory maternity pay from her paid employment?
Any advice would be greatly received!
