MacBook Pro Retina late 2013

I’ve been offered £550 for it and do not know if this is a good deal?

Apple are offering on their website trade in at £130

    Thank you

Trying to decide between the MacBook M1 and M1Pro. Any advice?

I realise the M1 has fewer ports but couldn’t you use adapters? Not really a video intensive editing person but I do want to future proof it to a degree
  • It’s a steal of a deal.

I am a desktop user not laptop but watched the event with interest the other day. Might be worth waiting for real world review at the mo?

I priced one up out of interest and they are eye watering pricy, hence the pro tag I suppose. Boggo M1 air a grand cheaper and some change.

Wonder how the M chip will progress each year. I find the M1 fast with apps/Programs meant for it but coming from a 2013 i7 chip nothing has blown me away. Yet.
Though a few video transcodes were quick, the fans kicked in a lot.

Turns out the buyer was a scammer! Said to me he transferred the funds and I would receive an email from his bank. This rang alarm bells and of course didn't send anything.

I did receive an email... a scam email. Straight into the junk mail. I said to him I need funds before dispatching! Also googled the address and people reviewing he is a scammer.

The old adage… if it sounds too good to be true it probably is.
  • Well spotted! Seems like an awful lot of effort to get hold of 100 quids-worth of second hand Mac or have I missed something else about this scam?

They over-pay and request you to return the balance ... but the original payment is a spoof so they end up with the goods and money back from the seller?

Or they come to your house and do the "transfer" via a spoof bank app which makes it look like they've paid you (from their end) and they walk away with the goods, but the payment wasn't real?

Either way, seems like a lot of effort for not a lot of return. 🤷‍♀️
