Tricky one this. My elderly mum is getting woken through the night by someone ringing the doorbell or knocking at the door. Rather than sitting outside all night on the off chance the nuisance returns, I'm looking fore a camera that will just take a snap of the person - nothing fancy. She doesn't have any wifi. Any ideas?

Is this a long term thing or just to solve this problem?
Subject to location, distance from pavement, suitable mounting point etc it may be better to consider something like a motion capture device (sort of thing you see on wildlife programmes). Similarly maybe replace the peep/spy hole with a camera option if there is one installed on the door... these can be battery operated and not need any wifi.0 -

She doesn't have wifi? Bet she does, only it's sitting in a box at the back of a cupboard somewhere!
