How does Ofgem decide which energy company to dump those customers whose companies have gone bust?  I was with Pure Planet.  I chose them because I wanted 100 percent gas and electricity from renewables. Ofgem must have been having a laugh by sticking us with Shell of all companies. I want nothing to do with that company and can’t wait to switch.
@Lisatiane as others have said, Pure Planet with their REGOs are no more or less green than 90% of other suppliers in the market.
If you want greener energy, there are a small number of energy companies who do more to offset your carbon footprint, including:
You will find they are significantly more expensive than other suppliers at the moment.
(I almost chose Green Energy's "Tide" TOU tariff before settling on Octopus.)

So my last supplier said they were 100% renewable, then they sent out an email saying they discovered they were not in fact so were going to by 5k of extra renewable credits.  Then they went bust and I am now with Shell Energy, I find them awful and will be switching away as soon as I owe them more money than my credit.

As for OFGEM they are totally useless, they literally go begging the companies to take them and agree all kinds of terms, the CMA also useless.  It is high time we a consumer led regulator and sack all at OFGEM.  Not fit for purpose.

Between 40-50% of our leccy is generated from gas, so it's actually impossible for any supplier to offer 100% renewable
