The first of those two (assuming I found the like-for-like model) seems to be £1,100 at Currys:

Obviously, your access to the employee rates is a big plus on this.

Many people rate the Samsung TV's as good products.  I've never had one so cannot comment.

How far away are you sitting from the panel? I like a large panel and wish I had gone to 65 but 75 would be too much for where I sit. That is not to say don't buy one that big, its your choice and you might be quite away from the panel. Just that a 65 or 55 for a similar price could have better features. That price is getting into 55 OLED range.

Usually the best test is to go look at a TV yourself. But pre buying, somewhere that does great reviews like rtings usually have a write up even if it is a 65 version.

Also depends what you will be watching, or mainly gaming etc.

Our lounge is reasonably big so distance shouldn’t be an issue….our wall unit has been made for 75” screen so can’t go any smaller now

it will be mainly used for watching TV, movies 

Can you suggest any other better deals in range of £800-900… I’m not choosy about any specific brand

We have an LG 4k 75" one and the picture is fantastic. Think it was £900 from John Lewis.

This one in John Lewis is within our budget too…is this better TV than above too?

Is LG better brand or Samsung?

That looks like the newer version of ours.  All of our TVs are LG and we have never had a problem at all. We even had a 3D one which was great, had been passed on to a family member now and is going strong. 

With John Lewis you get the extra warranty too don’t you? 

And they deliver to room of choice, unpack and take the packaging away.
