Loyalty 12 month gas kwh rate is 70% more expensive than flexible Octopus, whilst energy cap will increase in April most gas gets used between now and then, Electricity 2.45pkwh more until April after which time might be about the same ish until 30 September 2022

The only reason to prefer the fixed 'Loyal' tariff over the 'Flexible' tariff is if you believe that the prices will go up in April next year to a point where you would save enough in the six months from April to outweigh the much higher amount you have paid over the first 6 months on the fix...Given that most people will use the majority of their annual energy consumption over the winter months that is not particularly likely, but it is of course a guess, so up to you...1
