How can I estimate what my bill will be?

I'm one of the people who used to be with Pure Planet and now am with Shell Energy, got the email this morning.  I'm apparently going onto the standard variable tariff, this may seem a daft question but how can I find out what I can roughly expect bill-wise going forward?  Is there a calculator anywhere where I can plug in my annual usage so that I can have a rough idea of how much my bill is going to increase by?

I know not to cancel my DD and to sit tight etc but I would like to have a rough idea of what my bills are going to look like.

If you know your approx or estimated annual usage and can find out their tariff then simple maths will give you a figure. So usage x unit cost plus 365/6 x standing charge. Plus VAT depending on whether the SVT costs include it or not.

thanks, apparently I'm moving onto the standard variable tariff but can't figure out a way to find out what that is exactly, I just want to put in my usage figures and get a rough quote but thats been removed from the Shell Energy website.
  • Hi,
it says HERE, (scroll down half page) 'You’re moving onto our Flexible 6 tariff', though no details of tariff.

If you're looking for a rough indication you can use @jimjames marvellous on-line calculator:
This uses info from the Ofgem price cap for DD payment accounts.

Shell Tariffs are available here: Tariff Information Labels (shellenergy.co.uk)

Enter your postcode and a couple of other bits of info and it will bring up a drop down with all their tariffs.  Flexible 6 is there.
