As above, we’ve got 2 x up and down lights outside with led GU10 bulbs in them, and one of them is still working, but much less bright, is this normal?
I think they were cheap bulbs the Mrs bought in one of the cheaper home bargain type of shops

....Maybe....
Actually its a yes but its small amount over a very long time... so if you take a bulb with 30,000 life and LP80 rating it means that after 30,000 hours of use it will still be 80% of its original brightness... the dimming is also not linear so starts off much slower and increases as it gets nearer end of life.3 -
Thanks all… I think. These are fairly new, maybe 4 months old and are on for 12 hours a day maximum as on a dust/dawn sensor in the garden

Have a close look at them, could have multiple emitters and some have gone.1

Yes they do fade. People with good eyesight will probably never notice the fading, but someone whose eyesight is aging will definitely notice.

***I think they were cheap bulbs the Mrs bought in one of the cheaper home bargain type of shops ***Please don't be fooled by the label - M&S clothes are made in the same sweat shops in Bangladesh as cheaper brands. Many *own brand* foods are made on the same production lines of leading brands - just different labels.1
