Amazon Return

We recently sent an unwanted item back to Amazon through Hermes courier collection from our home. It was collected on 6th October 2021. Just a routine return that’s it. 

Yesterday we received a very disturbing email from Amazon that Incorrect item has been returned and advised us to return the correct item?? This is really upsetting and intimidating. We have been shopping at Amazon since last 20 Yrs. Never had such incidents. 

Any idea how to deal with it ? We have tried our best to explain to Amazon customer services through chat and telephone. They have nothing except apology and then send the same email. 

We have raised an incident with Hermes as well. Unfortunately, our ring devices remained lazy during 1st wk of October and couldn’t record any events. Ring tech support says perhaps some internet glitch and they couldn’t retrieve in cloud. 

I mean if that remains the case, in future customers may have no choice except to keep the package open I front of the courier collector, take pic of contents and the person collecting, smile in the pic, seal the package in the presence of the courier and that’s it!
