Morning all, dull & mild but it seemed so dark this morning. No real plans for the day. We had a busy Saturday and a chilled out day yesterday. DH picked up my meat pack on Friday, most of it frozen but kept a chicken out to roast with all the trimmings.I also made an apple sponge pudding after a friend gave me the recipe. It involved mixing the dry stuff together, then the wet stuff together including melted butter- combine the 2 and cover the apples. Then you mix boiling water & muscovado sugar and pour over the lot and bake , it was nice enough but seemed a bit of a faff compared to popping a crumble in ( or perhaps I'm just getting lazy
). Made loads though as I used 4 Bramleys so I might freeze some.
On the subject of loved ones ashes, we have tended to scatter as soon as they were available, but I know my cousin still has her mums at home 10 years after she passed, no right or wrong time apart from what is comfortable to you.Sorry to hear Florence may have been upset by a comment on another thread but we like hearing about your making. Also not seen AOD for ages - hope all is well. Dumpling hope your leg is soon better with the anti b's. Son has just popped in with a plated up roast dinner for me. He stayed for a chat which was nice. Washing is on and all yesterday’s food and household shopping now put away.
still trying to clear a blocked drain, partially successful but might need another treatment.

Hi everyone,
It was a busy weekend here. Laura and Esben were here most of the time. Laura had intended going home about teatime yesterday but Esben wasn't very well and had a really long nap. We kept trying to wake him but he wasn't having it so we let him sleep. We'd had roast pork on Saturday because we thought they wouldn't be here for a Sunday meal so we ended up with a Chinese takeaway for dinner.
We have three days here and then go to Wales for a couple of nights and then up to the Yorkshire house for the rest of next week. As a result I need to get this house in order and clean. I shall take my overlocker up to Yorkshire because Laura had made Esben a top and some dungarees and she has cut out some more dungarees for halloween so she will make them next week.
It's hard to believe that we are nearly in November, time seems to be whistling by, I shall have to start thinking about Christmas soon (apart from the turkey which is ordered from the local farm shop.
Have a good day.10
