Acceptable Solar Panel quote for install 1.45/w ?

Just got a quote for 15 panel install for £8k, that works out at 1.45 per watt.

Given the current situation is this the sort of price i should expect, I'm still waiting for other quotes but its taken ages to get someone to actually quote

My 4.235kw (11 panel) system works out as £1.13/w

    Where are you based?

Based in South Scotland.  Really want some idea of what's a realistic figure. Install of 15 panels should be easy on my roof. It's a simple grid 3×5 panels.
I'm now wondering if I should increase the number of panels to make it cost effective ther is lots of room, as I intend to eventually add battery storage in a few years time

As many say, go with as many panels as possible, my quote came from eco renewables group if you want to give them a shot, they have packages listed on their website.

That's a 5.5kW system? 370W panels? Seems a little bit steep, even at current prices. Does it include a battery or micro-inverters or any other special features?

No diverter or battery,  only optimizers, so that would add say 800 to price, if i remove that the price ~1.31/w
I dont think invertor panels are top of range, i believe its basic JA panels and solar edge invertor

OK the solar edge inverter is quite expensive and i thought that 15 optimizers would add more than 800 , but I don't know.

I take it you have a shading issue if you are talking about SolarEdge and Micro Optimizers?

I also in S. of Scot. 16 panel system (4kWp) a few years ago plus great inverter, diverter and new consumer unit installed for a lot less than that even scaling up for higher output.

Things do change but recently but used my installer too (an electrical engineering businesses) to get other work done. Quality quote very fast. Quality advice freely given or when requested. Open to give realistic lead time estimate translated to short lead time in practice. Quality job. I have no other connection other than a customer. Possibly not the cheapest around but great service and still in business, not a cowboy or fly by night!!

Now S. Of Scot covers a big area (other posters within the area too generally in Central belt) but if you p.m. me I will happily give you a recommendation. Aim to get close to £1 per Watt?
