Channelling Marvin Gaye....
Woah, oh, deary, deary me
Ah, things ain't what they used to be
Where did all those companies go
Those little ones we used to know
That supplied us with cheap energy
Woah, oh, deary, deary me
Ah, things ain't what they used to be
Watch fuel prices as they soar
Now we have to pay much more
Or face a winter of adversityReed7 -
Yes cancel the DD to Igloo. Eventually E.ON Next will set up your account and your Igloo credit will arrive. I am same position, having been with Symbio. Make sure you have meter readings as close to 3 October as possible and submit them to E.ON Next using the Igloo specific web page.0

Okay, if we are being completely serious there were some posts about DD payments being taken but not credited to the account shortly after an energy company had gone bust. I think this was with Symbio and doubtless these "lost" payments will turn-up eventually but to me the moral is that you should cancel your DD payments so you don't fall victim to a zombie billing system that doesn't die along with the company.Reed0

.... It isn't necessarily a good idea to cancel a DD Mandate as under SOLR procedures the mandate is passed to the SOLR. It just means more admin for the consumer who will have to set up another DD mandate in the SOLR's favour.Reed2 -
The flip side is having to deal with your new supplier thinking you were on a standard credit tariff which can be more expensive, and making sure you keep the money set aside ready for when it is needed. Both perfectly manageable I agree, but they do need managing which isn't a good point for everyone...0

You might have already heard that Igloo Energy Supply Limited has ceased trading and is no longer able to supply you with energy. We're pleased to let you know that Ofgem have appointed us, E.ON Next, as your energy supplier from 3 October. We know this might be a worrying time for you, and we’re here to make the move over to our systems as smooth as possible.
Let's put your mind at rest.- You're in safe hands – we're part of the E.ON Group so rest assured we're here to stay. Find out more about us and our 100% renewable electricity as standard.
- If you had a credit balance with Igloo Energy Supply Limited, we'll protect it. You won't lose it.
- Your energy won't be cut off - your supply will continue as normal during the move.
- We'll put you on our cheapest variable tariff and we'll guarantee these prices until 31 March 2022 – you'll be able to change your tariff or supplier once we've set your account up, if you want to. We don't charge exit fees.
What you need to do.
Please take a meter reading as soon as you can and send your meter reading to Igloo. If you can't, that's ok, it won't affect your account move or your supply. Just keep a note of it and we'll ask for it soon.
And if you're already in the process of switching to another energy supplier, your switch will continue as normal. You don't need to do anything.
What happens next?
If you paid Igloo Energy Supply Limited by Direct Debit, please don't cancel this, as it will help make your move go more smoothly if you can leave it set up for now. But don't worry if you've already cancelled your Direct Debit. We'll let you know how to set up a new one with us when we update you about your E.ON Next energy account over the next couple of weeks.
Keeping FiT?
If you generate your own energy and are registered for Feed in Tariff (FiT) payments, we are a FiT licensee, so you can choose to register your FiT account with us – or choose a different licensee instead. See our handy FiT FAQs for more info.
If you have any questions.
We know you might have some questions about what will happen so please take a look at our FAQs about joining us, as they'll always show the latest info. For now, please only get in touch if it's really urgent as we're waiting for your account details to be passed over. We'll be in touch within the next 14 days with an update.
We look forward to having you on board. Sending positive energy.
The E.ON Next team
PS You may be thinking about changing supplier – Ofgem's advice is to hold off till your account with us is set up as this will make the whole process easier, especially if your account with Igloo Energy Supply Limited was in credit. We hope you'll stick around and give us a try.Now we all know how it felt to play in the band on the Titanic...0
