Clearscore

Hi, has anyone noticed Clearscore acting a bit strange? My mortgage does not show up, also a couple of defaults fell off just over 4 years?

  • Not all lenders / financial institutions report to all CRAs, which is why it's recommended to check all three (the fourth is barely used).

Do you mean the accounts or the default marker? If the former it could be the lender no longer exists or the debt has been passed on to another company and they will get added, with the default marker.
Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.
  • Hi MovingForwards, the defaulted accounts were removed completely, so they were indeed on there. No, they were not passed.

I am a regular user of all three...

No. How do you know the debt hasn't been sold on?

Because appears on the others, and they never wrote to me.

It can take months for DCA's to write to you after they've bought a debt, and there are frequently mismatches between different CRAs.

At the end of the day, what Clearscore says doesn't matter, lenders don't query Clearscore, they query Equifax. If you want real confirmation you'll need to get it straight from the horse's mouth.

    It’s possible it’s just a mistake.

I’ve had accounts completely disappear on one CRA file for a few months then they reappeared some time later.
  • Three disappeared plus one mortgage. Or they chose not to use Equifax.

Seem to have disappeared on Experian as well. There is something with the 4 years (the time now lapsed). I can tell you HMRC actually only look back 4 years, and if there is something fishy, they look back at all 6.
