Hi all
I would really appreciate anyone who could help me with this. I forgot to "tax" my car on the date it was due some personal issues. my car is exempt from road tax under the goverment guide lines, so I dont actually pay for road tax however still have to get it "taxed". I had passed the date the tax was due, but did call and got it "taxed" when I relised it was overdue. I got a fine for it for £40 for it which I appealed as per DVLA guidelines, which I got no reply but got a fine from past due credit solutions for £80. I am wandering why I got a fine, when I actually dont have to pay for car tax any way which is unfair. has anyone had this problem? have you appealed this and won your appeal? I know they cant take you to court, but do they still take you to a small claims? and would they win?
any advice guidance would be greatly appreciated, these companies letters give me great anxiety.
many thanks
Jasmine

You still need to tax your car, even if you don't pay for it, hence the fine.
I can't see how you would win if it goes to court.1 -
Since we specialise in private parking charges here on this forum, I think you would be better taking this over to our friends on pepipoo.com.

which subject forum will it be?They are very good at moving a thread into the correct forum if it's not initially in the correct one. You'll be in good hands there; they'll look after you. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
