Prepayment gas & electric - is it a good time to switch?

Hi all,
I’ve recently moved into a new property and it has prepayment gas and electric meters.
I was looking at moving to a standard credit meter for both but in the light of the recent energy crisis I wondered if I would be better off staying as I am?
ive read that prepayment customers pay called energy prices.
my energy company (Scottish power) seem ultra keen on getting me changed to a smart meter but now I’m not so sure it would be in my best interest!
any advice would be appreciated.

I think if you compare energy tariffs you're always going to find pre-payment meter costs are higher. The capped prices are.0
