Balance Transfers-Help Please!

I am NOT the holder of any credit cards but thinking of applying for a Virgin Card which offers 0% p.a.Balance Transfer rate for 9 months.
My query is this; would I be able to consolidate any existing debts that I have onto the card eg overdraft, personal loans etc
I understand that one can transfer over balances from other credit cards but this is slightly different and I am concerned that I may have misunderstood the blurb.
Would I still get the benefit of the 0% interest for nine months? I am anxious to get this right, is there a better way of achieving my aim. Any information or advice would be most appreciated.

Steve

Sorry for my "rushed" reply above - had to dash off and do something else.

Yes, what you describe is possible but, as with most credit card use, it can be frought with danger if you don't understand the "rules".

As you're a "Newbie", both to this site and to credit cards in general, I'd suggest spending some time checking out the following resources, and post back with any specific questions you have...

    * Click the orange "credit cards" box at the left of this screen, and check out all articles relating to STOOZING, SBT, Revenge - make money from credit cards, and balance transfers.

    * Use the search facility on this site (box at top of page) to search out a few posts using the search word "Virgin". Have a read and see how others have done it - you will also see how not to do it from those who have experienced problems!

    * Read a few of the recent posts in this forum - maybe go back a month or so.

    * There is also a wealth of information on https://www.stoozing.com (a site supported by Martin Lewis)
