Give them a deadline, say your offer is on the table for a week and that's it

Surely best to wait to find out if other offers have been made first.

if you leave an offer on the table, it will always be used against you. They will simply say to others that they already have a full asking price offer. It goes against you, if you don't set a deadline. If they say no, that's fine, the OP can always go back in with a higher offer, should they decide to do so.
  • Back in Jan I refreshed RightMove on the Thursday and saw an amazing property (we thought) and booked a viewing the next day. I looked round and immediately put in an offer. I knew there were viewings due in the following week. On for £300k I offered £306k.

Was told the next day they were after more. I said I think it's already expensive for the street (nothing has sold for close to £50k of its price) and I was happy with the offer I'd made or I'm happy to consider alternative properties nearby if not accepted. Monday I get a call saying accepted so whether the agent was playing me, who knows!

Complete in May. Move in Dec. Can't wait! Good luck.

They have said one other offer has been made and viewings will continue for the rest of today. They plan to contact the vendor tomorrow morning to ask what they want to do, I have a feeling it could be best & final offers.

Seems that matters will very quickly come to a conclusion.

Just an update: I’ve had a call from the EA, they have said that the family want further viewings take place Friday (bare in mind they’ve already had a few offers). They will then be calling them next Tuesday to see what there position is.
  • I think I would pull out,  the seller sounds like they are really pushing to get the most amount possible and seem to me more likely to gazump you. Depends on how much you want the house

Is that not unusual when selling?
