Hi

I have just bought a new Lenova laptop.

I have gone into Facebook messenger and tried to video call my friend, which I have done lots of times before on my old laptop.

It is saying you haven't allowed facebook to your camera and microphone.

I have searched on facebook how to do that, but there is nowhere to say.

How can I allow them to access my camera and microphone?

    Not a Facebook thing.  Its a Windows thing.

    I have just followed all the instructions on the link and still nothing works.

    When I go to Facebook and try a video call to my friend I am getting the same.  You must allow Facebook access.

    Why is this so complicated.  On my old laptop I had no problem.

    Now I buy a new one.  Facebook have no email to send if you have a problem.

    Why did I have to come on here and ask advice?  Which doesn't seem to work.

    I just want to chat on Facebook video like I did before.  But with this new computer why is there a big problem?

    Sorry have had a few wines and am just so annoyed.

    How are you accessing Faceachebook? via a browser or is there a windows app for that these days? Oh and you using a third party anti-virus

    Not sure what you mean Debit.

    I use GoogleChrome to access everything.

    Have never been asked on Facebook before to allow access to camera until today when I bought the new laptop.

    If I go into settings for my laptop there's an option to allow sound and video.  That is universal to all the systems available on it.  I can't access Facebook (work restrictions) but that means I can do webex chats and also Skype or use Microsoft Teams.

    But I am getting on Facebook waiting for others to join when I try to talk to my friend on video call.

    She hasn't yet when I try and contact her.
