I'm off to Spain next Friday for a long weekend, flying back on the Monday. I have been putting off booking the day 2 PCR test in the hope that the govt will set a date for the switch to LFTs. How often do they normally take to arrive? I'm thinking about waiting until Monday before I book it.

I see now that LFTs will be OK from the 24th, but can't book until the 22nd, seems a tad risky for the sake of saving a few quid.

not sure what you mean by risky. You order on the 22nd, return on the 25th and take your test by the 27th

I mean because of the huge sudden demand on that date, may cause problems with deliveries etc. Maybe I'm overthinking it, will see if any other news comes out and decide after the weekend.

I suspect you'll be able to order well before 22nd. That's just when they're gunna publish their list... you can order from any of the providers whenever they make them available. Some have them already - but i'd wait a few more days until we know more about if you need a booking number for the passenger locator form etc and let providers catch up to that if they need to.
