Credit Score for Landloards

I was reading a listing for renting a property in Manchester, working away from home. In the listing it says you need a "Credit Score" of 650 - 1000. How could they possibly see a factious score from Credit Agencies? Are Estate Agents trying to change the way lettings work?

I moved recently and the referencing was completed through Canopy who use Experian.
Canopy used the Experian credit score to determine if we could rent deposit free. On the Canopy account you can see the same score as given by Experian.

I can guarantee you that their judgement is not based on the gimmick score, just the history
